Missouri YMCA Youth In Government: Candidate Registration Form

Please complete the following form if you plan to be a candidate for one of the following offices.
Governor:	Candidate must be a junior, with one year of experience in YIG or similar government-oriented program.
Lieutenant Governor:	Candidate must be a junior, with one year of experience in YIG or similar government-oriented program, and registered in the Legislative Program as a Senator.
Speaker of the House:	Candidate must be a junior, with one year of experience in YIG or similar government-oriented program, and registered in the Legislative Program.
Secretary of State:	Candidate must be a junior, with one year of experience in YIG or similar government-oriented program.
Attorney General:	Candidate must be a junior, with one year of experience in YIG or similar government-oriented program, and registered in the Judicial Program.
You need to review the Student Leadership Overview and Elections and Candidate documents before completing this form. The Candidate Registration Form must be completed by October 14, 2009. You must also file the Candidate Agreement with the State Office by October 14, 2009. Late Forms and Agreements will not be accepted. Candidate Statement
You must submit a statement of candidacy and platform. This should include statements such as why you are running for this office, what you would bring to this office, and/or your qualifications. You should also include your goals if elected, and if appropriate what policies you plan to support. For example, you may state: "If elected Governor, I will sign legislation that increases funding for education, lowers taxes, provides health care to children, etc."
