Cost and Financial Assistance

Model Government Program Fee: $200
This fee is paid by the youth participants. Payment is due to the State Office by October 13, 2011. Checks should be made payable to "Missouri YMCA Youth In Government" or "MOYIG" and given to your delegation director. Once paid, all fees are non-refundable. Failure to pay fees by stated deadlines will result in student being dropped from the program.

Below is an approximation of how the fee is allocated based on some specific categories.

Hotel room and meeting space costs at Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City during State Convention. 30%
Administrative costs of program 34%
Two meals at State Convention and other food expenses 20%
Program supplies and materials 10%
Planning and training meetings 5%

Delegation Fee
Some delegations charge an additional program fee. This fee is often used to pay transportation costs to and from the State Convention.

Spending Money
Students should bring spending money (usually around $50) to cover the costs of meals during the State Convention. One meal is provided for the students: lunch on Saturday. Students may also want refreshment or a snack throughout the day. Vending machines are available at the Capitol.

Students participating in the Civic Leadership Institute will have additional meals provided during the State Convention.

Scholarships
Missouri YMCA Youth In Government offers financial assistance for the State Convention. Students interested in applying for financial assistance must submit a Financial Assistance Application by September 29, 2011. Applications received after this date will be considered only if financial assistance funds remain available.
