Youth In City Government - Jefferson City

Overview
Experience city government first-hand! Spend one day shadowing a city department and taking part in Jefferson City’s Youth City Council. Participants will spend the morning with a city department learning about its function and the challenges it faces. The afternoon will be spent discussing solutions to challenges and preparing for a Youth City Council meeting that evening.

Students will spend time with one of these departments: Police, Fire, Wastewater, Parks and Recreation, Transit, Code Enforcement, or Information Technology

Date: Tuesday, September 20, 2011
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Location: City Hall, 320 E. McCarty Street
Cost: FREE, lunch and dinner included

*Participants and parent(s) should attend our orientation meeting on September 19, City Hall, 5:30–6:30 p.m.
