Model Government State Convention: November 29-December 1, 2007
Over 650 students gather for the 59th annual YIG State Convention in Jefferson City, Missouri. Students take over the Missouri State Capitol for three days, as they debate bills, try cases, publish newspapers, produce TV news broadcasts, elect new student officers, and much more.

Executive Branch Leadership Institute: March 5-7, 2008
Twenty-nine Students gathered for our 9th annual Executive Branch Leadership Institute, working with thirteen state departments and offices to develop solutions to key policy issues, including motorcycle helmet laws, sexual offender registry, biodiesel fuel, developmentally disabled workforce, Internet security, hazardous household products, teacher shortages, baby boomers, E. coli bacteria in rivers, and more.

Executive Branch Leadership Institute: March 7-9, 2007
Thirty-six Students gathered for our 8th annual Executive Branch Leadership Institute, working with twelve state departments and offices to develop solutions to key policy issues, including seatbelt laws, banning cell phone usage while driving, child care subsidies, banning corporal punishment in public schools, banning smoking on all state property, transporting of inmates, and more.

Civic Leadership Institute: February 22-24,2007
Thirty-nine 8th grade students gathered for the first Civic Leadership Institute in Jefferson City. Students discussed important issues, learned about the legislative and judicial processes, wrote legislative bills, debated in committee hearings and a general session, toured the Capitol Building, and enjoyed a fun night at the YMCA.

Executive Branch Leadership Institute: March 8-10, 2006
Forty-four students gathered for our 7th annual Executive Branch Leadership Institute, working with state departments on key policy issues, including red-light cameras, mental health screenings for students, earthquake insurance, corporal punishment in schools, poverty, stormwater collection in new developments, and homeland security.
